The Bay Islands, consisting of Utila, Roatan, Guanaja and Cayos Cochinos, lie off the coast of Honduras and fringe the world's second largest barrier reef system. Utila's reef topography includes walls -- which range in depth from 15 to 100 feet on Utila's south shore and 15 to 3000 feet on Utila's north shore -- sea mounts and volcanic shoreline with amazing swim-throughs and overhangs. As well Utila's reef are abundant with more than 300 different fish species and a huge variety of sponges and corals.
