PADI Dive Master

Why take the PADI Divemaster course?

The Divemaster course is the first professional-level qualification and therefore the first step in your dive career. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by teaching you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

As a Utila Water Sports Divemaster in Training (DMT) you will have the opportunity to greatly improve your diving abilities by assisting on courses, leading certified divers, dealing with boat logistics, allocating equipment, performing retail sales, and answering customer enquiries.

The benefits of pursuing your Divemaster qualification here at Utila Water Sports include discounted specialty course prices, unlimited diving and the chance to familiarize yourself with the day-to-day running of a small, friendly dive shop.

Typically, candidates complete the Divemaster course in about 4-8 weeks.  Prerequisites for the Divemaster course include Advanced Open Water ,EFR and Rescue Diver qualifications in order to start the course.

Divemaster candidates are expected to represent Utila Water Sports in a professional, positive and friendly manner as well as help with the smooth running of the shop and assist the instructors.
